Texting Seneca driver cited for DWI after accident

A Seneca man was charged with driving while intoxicated following a one-vehicle accident 10:15 p.m. Thursday on I-49, one mile south of Neosho.

According to the Highway Patrol report, Johnathan W. Brodie, 21, Seneca, driving a 1999 Dodge Stratus, was texting and ran off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected and struck the left bridge wall.

Brodie, who was treated for minor injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Neosho, was also charged with careless and imprudent driving, no insurance, no seat belt, and no registration.
