Three injured, 10-year-old airlifted to Mercy Springfield after accident on 76

Three Rocky Comfort residents were injured in a one-vehicle accident 8:29 a.m. today on MO 76, a half mile east of Longview.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2000 Ford Windstar driven by Amanda J. Bland, 29, Rocky Comfort, traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck the ditch and started to overturn.

Two people were ejected from the vehicle.

A passenger, James L. Payne, 10, Rocky Comfort, was airlifted to Mercy Hospital, Springfield, with serious injuries.

Bland was treated for serious injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.

Neither Bland nor Payne were wearing seatbelts.

A baby, Ryan Bland, 0, Rocky Comfort, was wearing a safety device and was treated for minor injuries at Freeman West.
