Wrongway driver accident on I-49 results in two injuries, including Carl Junction woman

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident 12:30 p.m. today on I-49, four miles south of Joplin.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2008 Ford Focus was driven northbound in the southbound lane by Cathy S. Williams, 66, Carl Junction, and struck an oncoming 2017 Dodge Caravan driven by Karis E. Collins, 66, Rogers, Arkansas.

Williams was treated for moderate injuries and Collins for minor injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.
