RECYCLING CENTER HOLIDAY SCHEDULE - The City of Joplin Recycling Center and Household Hazardous Waste Facility WILL BE CLOSED on Saturday, December 23 and December 30. The center accepts many discarded holiday items including, gift wrapping paper (no ribbons please) boxes, bottles, cans, greeting cards, cooking oil, and clean packing materials such as peanuts and bubble wrap.
The Center, 1310 West A Street, normal business hours are 12 noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. For additional information, call the Recycling Coordinator at (417) 624-0820 extension 501 or visit www.joplinmo.org.
RESIDENTIAL TRASH AND CURBSIDE RECYCLING HOLIDAY SCHEDULE – Due to the holidays of Christmas and New Year’s Day falling on a weekday, Joplin’s residential trash and curbside recycling pickup schedule for the holidays will change. Residential trash and recycling will NOT be picked up on these holidays, however customers who usually have trash/recycling picked up on Mondays will have this service on the next day, and daily service will move to the following day using Saturday, December 30 and January 2 for the Friday customer service.
Snow, ice and extreme cold can also delay residential trash pickup. Call Republic Services at (800) 431-1507 when there is a question as to whether Joplin residential trash/curbside recycling service will be delayed.
BULKY ITEMS DROP OFF HOLIDAY SCHEDULE - The Republic Services Transfer Station in Galena, Kansas (that accepts bulky items from Joplin residential trash customers) WILL BE CLOSED on Monday, December 25 and January 1. During general operations, the transfer stations hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with a lunch break between 11:30 a.m. to Noon, and Saturday from 8 a.m. to Noon.
