In recognition of the New Year’s holidays, the City of Joplin offices will be closed on Monday, January 1. This closing includes MAPS and the Sunshine Lamp Trolley services. In addition, the City Council meeting scheduled for the first Monday of the month will be moved to Tuesday, January 2. The Joplin Recycling Center is normally closed on Mondays.
Public Safety services (Police and Fire Departments) and Airport Operations will continue to operate throughout the New Year’s holidays, as these departments run 24/7 throughout the year.
City Hall, MAPS, the Sunshine Lamp Trolley and the Recycling Center will be open and operate during their normal operating hours on Tuesday, January 2.
In addition, during these holiday weeks, residential trash service and curbside recycling will move one day forward. residential trash service moves one day forward. Monday customers will have service on Tuesday and Tuesday customers will have Wednesday pick-up and so on continuing through Saturday for Friday customers.
