Investigators with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, with cooperation from Cherokee City Police and the Crawford County Sheriffs Office, executed a search warrant late Monday evening at a home in Cherokee.
The warrant was obtained as part of an investigation into the burglary and theft of property from an rural Scammon home on September 7th. During the course of the search, stolen property was recovered and two suspects were placed under arrest.
Travis Delmont, 46, and 44 year-old Tonya Delmont, both of Cherokee, were
transported to the Cherokee County Jail on allegations of Burglary and Theft. Their bonds are set at $7,000.00 each.
“This case materialized as the result of a vigilant passerby, who recognized suspicious activity and then contacted our office to pass on specific information. We always encourage residents to contact us if they see something that seems suspicious or just doesn’t look right in their neighborhood. All callers can remain anonymous, if they choose,” stated Cherokee County Sheriff David Groves.
