Cause of house fire at 2122 S. Pearl ruled accidental

On Wednesday, March 04, 2020, at 5:41 AM, the Joplin Fire Department responded to a report of a possible structure fire at 2122 S Pearl Ave.

The first crew arrived at 5:46 AM to find a two-story residential structure with smoke showing from the chimney area. Crews entered the structure and extinguished the fire. They remained on scene until 8:50 AM.

The Joplin Fire Department responded with 6 units and 18 personnel. 










The Fire Department was assisted by METS Ambulance Service and the Joplin Police Department. 

There were no injuries to civilians or firefighting personnel. The lone resident in the structure said that a police officer woke her up stating her house was on fire.

The cause of the fire was ruled as accidental.
