Suspected traffickers toss several pounds of meth out of vehicle, before arrest by Newton County, Seneca PD, Highway Patrol

On 03/17/2020, the Newton County Sheriff’s Office attempted to initiate a car stop on a suspected methamphetamine trafficker on I-49 which resulted in a pursuit.

This was a result of a joint effort between the District 13 Drug Task Force out of Oklahoma, The Ozark Drug Task Force Team and the Newton County Sheriff’s Office. The Seneca Police Department and Troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol also assisted in the pursuit.

The vehicle, a black Toyota Avalon, fled southbound on I-49 then west bound onto Highway 60. During the pursuit several pounds of methamphetamine were thrown from of the vehicle along a five mile stretch. The methamphetamine was recovered.








The vehicle proceeded onto Palm Road and crashed approximately ¾ mile south of Highway 60. Additional methamphetamine was located in the vehicle.

A male and female were taken into custody. They are charged with:

Trafficking 1st Degree
Felony Resisting Arrest
Destruction of Evidence.
