KGCS to air Newsmakers, music programs

(From Southern News Service)

A number of Newsmakers programs were recorded at KGCS-TV prior to the transition to online classes at Missouri Southern State University, and are now available for viewing on the station, as well as the station’s YouTube channel, “KGCS Missouri Southern.”

Included in the mix is a look at the organization, “100 Women Who Care.” Valerie Doerr and Stephanie Meek sit down with Judy Stiles, host and KGCS general manager, to explain how they work together to help non-profit agencies in the area. Another program features the Webb City Farmers Market, where Rachael Lynch shares information about its history and growth over the years.

Some MSSU music performances were recorded in early March and are available for viewing - the 399th U.S. Army Band Jazz Combos, and the “Synergy” concert featuring the Missouri Southern Concert Band and the Joplin High School Band.

KGCS programming can be seen on channel 21. It is also available on regional cable television systems such as Sparklight, Mediacom and Suddenlink Communications. The station operates as a service of the Department of Communication at Missouri Southern State University.
