Utility work to cause temporary street closures in downtown Joplin

Beginning Monday, September 13, Ace Pipe Cleaning will be relining/working on the sewer line immediately west of Main Street between 1st and 2nd Streets. 

To access the sewer manholes, 2nd Street between Main and Joplin Avenue will be closed to west-bound traffic, and 1st Street will be closed to east-bound traffic. The work is expected to two to three days but may be longer depending on the condition of the sewer pipes.

Also starting Monday, September 13, Byers Avenue will be closed between 6th and 7th Streets as utility connections are being made to the new courthouse. The closure is expected to last 2 days but may last longer due to any unforeseen circumstances.

Drivers are urged to use extreme caution in the work area. The City appreciates your patience.
