Festival of Wreaths scheduled Tuesday at Crowder College

 (From Crowder College)

Crowder College Foundation 20th annual Festival of Wreaths takes place Tuesday, November 8th. The event begins at 5 pm with a silent auction in Longwell Museum located inside the Elsie Plaster Community Center on the Neosho campus. A live auction will begin at 6:30 pm in the auditorium. Last year’s event raised over $137,000 for scholarships & program support.

Festival of Wreaths began as a live auction of 30-40 holiday wreaths and swags. Now in its 20th year, the event has grown into an electronically integrated silent auction of more than 400 items as well as a live auction of 30 plus items. While holiday wreaths and décor will always be a mainstay of Festival of Wreaths, auction merchandise at the event includes everything from gift baskets and apparel to trips, electronics, and household items. Guests will see items that range in value from $10 to several thousand dollars and everything in between.

Changes that will continue to be implemented this include in-person and online bidding on silent auction items as in past years. Guests are encouraged to pre-register online: bidpal.net/fow2022 or text “FOW2022” to 243725.

Check-out may be done via mobile device without waiting in line and arrangements may be made to pick-up items between 9am-4pm, November 9-10, or 9am-noon November 11. Delivery of merchandise to your home or office may also be arranged.

Raffle tickets for “The Best of Live” are being sold now and will be drawn on Monday, November 7. Only 200 tickets are being sold for $100 each with the winner choosing from all the items on the live auction before the live auction starts. Another raffle is the Winner’s Choice sponsored by Newton County Abstract & Title. The winner of the ticket drawn will have the option of selecting one of three prizes: Apple Watch Series with GPS connectivity, self-emptying Robot vacuum and mop combo, or two-seater kids 4wd ride on motorized truck. Raffle tickets are $5 each or $20 for five. Tickets for both raffles may be purchased on the auction website. Winner’s choice raffle tickets will be available to purchase the night of the auction. Winners of raffles do not need to be present to win.

Notable live auction items this year include a handmade walnut coffee table, Yukon solo stove and stand, a private showing at Neosho B&B Theatre, artwork by Doug Hall and Jack Dawson, Blackstone 4 burner griddle, set of four tires, Queen mattress & adjustable platform and more.

This year, the live auction will be live streamed for those unable to attend. Bidding on live auction items may be done via proxy bid. Proxy bid must be established by noon on Monday, Nov.7, by calling 417.455.5646 for more information.
