Joplin Police Department officer trainees graduate from MSSU Academy

(From the Joplin Police Department)

The Joplin Police Department is proud to recognize our Police Officer Trainees officers that graduated from the spring session of the MSSU Law Enforcement Academy.

They are Officer Jason Allman, Officer Kory Blevins, Officer Stetcyn Cornelius, Officer Dustin Mitchell, Officer Jocelyn Murphy, Officer Tiffany Osborne, Officer Maggie Smith, and Officer Zachery Wald. Their graduation from Trainee to Police Officer was solidified this morning as they were sworn in and took their oath of office for the City of Joplin.

Joining them during the swearing in this morning was Officer Allen Purcell, who retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and was recently hired as a Lateral Police Officer at Joplin PD.

These officers will now undergo in-house academy training at the Joplin Police Department, which will be followed by a four phase field training program.

Please join us as we congratulate these officers on their accomplishments and welcome them as members of the JPD family. We look forward to them successfully completing their training requirements and going out to serve the community as representatives of our agency.
