A Carthage man was killed in a two-vehicle accident 8:15 a.m. today on MO 96 in Rescue.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2014 Nissan Rogue driven by Jose L. Uoa, 40, Carthage, crossed the center line and struck a 2023 Peterbilt tractor-tanker-trailer driven by Mitchell L. Harrison, 55, Frontenac, Kansas head on.
Lawrence County Coroner Scott Lakin pronounced Uoa dead at the scene at 8:30 p.m.
The fatality was the 37th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
