(From the Webb City Police Department)On Tuesday, May 23rd at about 20:10 hours officers with the Webb City Police Department saw Tyretha Smith, a 29-year old black male from Webb City, with two felony warrants (fail to appear - discharging a firearm from Jasper County and parole violation - possession marijuana from Missouri Probation & Parole) enter a residence in the 600 block of North Main Street.
Tyretha has a history of being armed with firearms. Officers surrounded the residence and called for Tyretha to peacefully come out of the house. Two female subjects and three small children exited the house.
One of the females, Indica Smith (a 36-year old black female from Webb City) was arrested on a Carthage Police Department warrant for fail to register a motor vehicle. The other female, Christine Lamberth (a 43-year old white female from Joplin) was arrested on three felony warrants; one from Cass County for driving while revoked, probation violation for fraud from Newton County and one from Jasper County for trafficking stolen IDs. The three children were turned over to a relative who had responded to the scene.
Officers with the Webb City Special Response Team were called in to secure the scene.
Deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Special Response Team responded & introduced chemical munitions (CS gas or 2-chlorobenzalmalononitrile) into the residence.
At about 22:11 hours, Tyretha exited the house & was taken into custody without any further incident. Additional charges of felony resisting arrest & felony possession of a controlled substance from this incident will be filed with the Jasper County Prosecutor’s Office against Tyretha.
Officers with Carterville and Oronogo Police Departments along with deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office assisted with this incident. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation to peacefully resolve this incident.
