(From the Missouri State Highway Patrol)Captain Jason N. Crites, commanding officer of Troop F, is pleased to announce the promotion of Sergeant James E. Lowary. The promotion is effective September 1, 2023. Lieutenant Lowary is a 19-year veteran with the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Lowary was appointed to the Patrol on January 18, 2004, as a member of the 82nd Recruit Class. Upon completing his training at the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop F, Zone 4, which serves Audrain County. On May 28, 2006, he transferred to Zone 5, which serves Camden and Miller counties.
On July 1, 2011, he was promoted to rank of corporal and served as the assistant zone supervisor in Zone 1, which serves Cole and Callaway counties. On October 1, 2012, he transferred to Zone 16 as a marine operations trooper assigned to Lake of the Ozarks. On January 1, 2014, he was promoted to the rank of sergeant and designated zone supervisor of Zone 18, which serves Miller County. On June 1, 2017, he transferred and became zone supervisor of Zone 5, which serves Camden and Miller counties.
Lieutenant Lowary grew up in Quincy, Illinois, and graduated from Quincy High School in 1995. In 1999, he graduated from Missouri Southern State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice. Lt. Lowary is married to Brittany, and they have one daughter named Cora.
