(From the Jasper Police Department)On Friday, September 8th, 2023 at 1616 hours, I initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Thorn Rd. and I-49 on a red 1999 Chevrolet tracker with a Missouri license.
Contact with John Gilbert (Jasper), who stated he was revoked. During a pat search for weapons, the officer felt what appeared to be a meth pipe in his front left pocket. When I asked what the item was, Gilbert stated he found it and put it in his pocket.
A glass pipe with white powder residue was taken from his front left pocket.
Gilbert was taken into custody for driving while revoked and possession of meth related drug paraphernalia.
Note: Gilbert is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
