(From the Lamar Police Department)Last night, at the city council meeting, we had the opportunity to introduce our new department K9, Clea, to the community.
Clea is a 15-month-old German Shepard, imported from Poland. Clea is in the last week of a 6-week training program with her handler Ofc. Kiley Gerster. The training takes place in Joplin through Patriot K9.
The K9 and the training was provided by a grant from the state. Clea will be certified on tracking, suspect apprehension, the detection of narcotics, including methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine and fentanyl. You should begin seeing Clea in the community starting this coming weekend.
