Nine Joplin Police Department officers graduate from MSSU Academy

(From the Joplin Police Department)

The Joplin Police Department is proud to recognize 9 of our officers as they graduated from the 156th MSSU Law Enforcement Academy. They are Officer Trevor Browning, Officer Cade Moreno, Officer Haley Perkins, Officer Austin Young, Officer Jeremiah McGough, Officer Austin Phillips, Officer Abigail Keith, Officer Erik Velazquez, and Officer Timothy Lenze.

Their graduation from the MSSU Academy to Police Officer was solidified this morning as they were sworn in and took their oath of office for the City of Joplin. They were joined this morning by Officer Matthew Tomlin who comes to us with prior law enforcement experience.

These officers will now undergo in-house academy training at the Joplin Police Department for 9-weeks, followed by a 16-week field training program.

Please join us as we congratulate these officers on their accomplishments thus far and welcome them as members of the JPD family. We look forward to them successfully completing their training requirements and going out to serve the community as representatives of our agency.
