(From KGCS)Cardinals baseball fans will get the chance to meet players and get autographs Saturday, January 13 when the Cardinals Caravan comes to the Missouri Southern State University campus.
The free event begins at 11:30 a.m. in the Taylor Performing Arts Center Auditorium. The first 400 kids ages 15 and under will receive a ticket for autographs from Cardinals players and alumni.
KGCS-TV and the MSSU Department of Communication are once again proud to host the free event which is returning to the renovated Taylor Performing Arts Center with a seating capacity of a thousand on the main level.
The roster for this year’s free Cardinals Caravan includes: second baseman and utility player, Brendan Donovan; catcher, Ivἀn Herrera; pitcher, Nick Robertson; pitcher, Max Rajcic; with alumni Rick Ankiel and Ryan Ludwick. This caravan’s emcees will be Rick Horton and Mike Claiborne, who will conduct a question and answer session with the players and alumni including questions from fans.
Players will then give autographs to the first 400 kids ages 15 and under. Line tickets will be available in the lobby of Taylor Performing Arts Center the morning of the event. Doors will open at 10:00 a.m. Missouri Farm Bureau Insurance is the statewide sponsor of the Cardinals Caravan and will give away a limited number of limited edition team branded winter gloves to youth.
The United Way of Southwest Missouri and Southeast Kansas will accept donations for raffle tickets for a chance at Cardinals gift packages and memorabilia. Raffle tickets will be available at tables in the lobby of Taylor Performing Arts Center beginning at 10:00 a.m. when doors open and throughout the event. Winners will be announced during the autograph session.
Parking is available in the MSSU main lot on Newman Road. Shuttle service will be provided from the lot to the auditorium.
KGCS-TV will record the Cardinals Caravan presentation for playback at a later date and that program will also be posted to the station’s YouTube channel: KGCS – Missouri Southern State University.
