(From the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office)A Cherokee County man is in custody following a standoff with law enforcement in the 500 block of East 22nd Street in Baxter Springs early Friday afternoon.
Just after 2:00 p.m., Sheriff's Investigators attempted to arrest 43-year-old Casey Robert Bronke on an outstanding warrant for Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance.
Bronke allegedly barricaded himself inside the home and threatened to shoot and kill law enforcement.
Additional units from the Baxter Springs Police Department and Cherokee County Sheriff's Office responded and following the brief standoff, Bronke was taken into custody and several firearms were seized.
In addition to the original drug distribution warrant, Bronke now faces charges of Aggravated Assault on Law Enforcement, Criminal Possession of a Firearm and Felony Interference with Law Enforcement.
