Agenda posted for Joplin Historic Preservation Commission special meeting
I wish the city was able to buy enough empty land between Crackle Barrel and ATT (south of I-44) to build a new state of the art museum to replace the one at Shifferdecker. Not only would it focus on the mining era of Joplin, but also have a section all about the May 2011 tornado. There would also be an outdoor trail or two on the grounds. I could go on with ideas, The fee to get in would be based on your vehicle and not the number of people. I think $5.00 would be plenty or $10.00 max. Not only would the city get traffic from its residents and nearby, but also I-44 traffic, especially during tourist season.
