Joplin woman arrested, meth confiscated, stolen items recovered after search warrant execution

On 4-10-2025 the Joplin Police Department FLEX Platoon executed a search warrant with the assistance of the Joplin Police Department SWAT Team at 714 South Harlem. 

During a search of the residence, loose pills were discovered which were identified as scheduled two controlled substances. Detectives also located approximately 9.6 grams of suspected methamphetamine during their search. 





Additionally, Detectives located and recovered one stolen Polaris four-wheeler in the backyard along with a stolen Honda motorcycle. Detectives also seized a loaded. .22 caliber revolver in the homeowner’s vehicle. 

The homeowner, Melissa Taylor of Joplin was arrested and transported to the Joplin City Jail where additional narcotics were located on her person. 





 Charges for unlawful use of weapons, delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of paraphernalia, and stealing were submitted to the Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for consideration. 

Charges were filed and a $100,000 cash or surety bond was issued. All victims of the recovered stolen property have been contacted.
