Crowder students earn 18 medals at SkillsUSA competition

Crowder College students earned 18 medals this past week at the 2025 SkillsUSA Missouri State Leadership & Skills Conference in Jefferson City.

Five students on the high school Criminal Justice Quiz Bowl took gold out of eleven teams from across the state.

“These students are the reason teaching law enforcement is so rewarding,” stated Dr. Oren Barnes, Criminal Justice Instructor.








Crowder Technical Education Center (CTEC) provides educational opportunities to high school age students residing in Diamond (DHS), East Newton (ENHS), McDonald County (MCHS), Neosho (NHS), and Seneca (SHS) school districts. Students in high school programs competed in a variety of contests with the following results:

· Gold medal winners: Criminal Justice Quiz Bowl team: Kalel Black (MCHS), Wyatt Crumm (ENHS), Caleb Hall (MCHS), Max Morin (ENHS) & Lexi Ramirez (MCHS)

· Silver medal winners:Computer team of Cade Courtney (Home School) & Kaden Huckeba (ENHS) competed in Interactive Application and Video Game Development
Construction team of Luis Rangel (DHS), Brayden Roark (SHS), Roper Shaner (DHS) and Daniel Weiss (DHS) competed in Team Works

· Bronze medal winners:Hunter Williams (SHS) competing in First Aid CPR
Helen Mawi (ENHS) competing in Basic Health Care Skills
Max Compton (NHS) competing in Diesel Equipment








Students in college courses (post-secondary) competed in a variety of contests with the following results:Silver medal winner: Marlee Roe (Lamar) competed in Diesel
Bronze medal winners:Alex Jones (Noel) competed in Diesel
Makayla Dorris (Seneca) competed in Diesel
David Lira (Anderson) competed in Diesel

Crowder College provides training for career and technical employment through its high school (Career & Technical Education Center) and post-secondary degrees and certificates. SkillsUSA provides an avenue for students to compete while showcasing their talents.
