JoMoCom topic of next Newsmakers program

(From KGCS)

The world of anime comes to life August 2nd as Joplin plays host to JoMoCom. Organizers of the pop culture convention share event details on the next Newsmakers program.

Jason Bright with the JoMoCon organizing committee discusses the event’s move to the new Joplin Expo located in the old Macy’s store at Northpark Mall. Bright says more than 85 vendor/artists are attending along with anime voice actor Terrance Stone. A battle arena will be created for Live Action Role Play and there will be a costume contest. Brad Eichelberger, Guardians of the Four States founder, explains the fun found in cosplay and causeplay which shares proceeds from events with charities.

Bright Futures will benefit from JoMoCon. Amanda Stone joins the conversation to discuss how such donations impact the non-profit which provides food for at-risk students in backpacks for the weekend. MSSU E-sports team members discuss attending events like JoMoCon for gaming contests and to see gaming characters come to life by cosplay actors in costume.
