Pittsburg woman arrested after Casey's robbery

(From the Pittsburg Police Department)

On Wednesday night, July 23, 2025, at approximately 11:30 PM, law enforcement officers with the Pittsburg Police Department were dispatched to the Casey’s convenience store, located at 612 S. Broadway Street, in Pittsburg, in reference to a report of robbery incident which had just occurred. The reporting party advised a female suspect had stolen items from the store without paying for them and then threatened staff when they approached her about the items.

Upon arrival in the area, the officers located the female suspect, who was identified as 43-year-old Crystal R. Stevens, of Pittsburg, in the 100 block of W. Park Street.

Officers approached Ms. Stevens and attempted to detain her at which point Ms. Sevens began to move away from the officers and refused to comply with their commands to stop. After several attempts to get Ms. Stevens to stop, of which Ms. Stevens continued to refuse the officers’ commands, one of the officers deployed their Taser, causing Ms. Stevens to fall to the ground at which point she was taken into custody without further incident.

The items of stolen property were recovered and were returned to staff at Casey’s.

Ms. Stevens was placed under arrest for robbery and interference with law enforcement. Ms. Stevens was transported to the jail at the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office for booking, where she is currently being held without bond.

Ms. Stevens is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
