A Joplin woman was killed and nine people injured in a two-vehicle collision 6 p.m. Saturday on Highway 5 at Lake Shore Drive in Laclede County.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2017 Nissan Rogue driven by a 45-year-old Vancouver, Washington man hydroplaned and spun around crossing the center of the roadway causing a 2019 Ford F150 driven by a 22-year-old Long Lane woman to strike its rear.
The Nissan Rogue traveled off the left side of the roadway into a ditch. A passenger in that vehicle, a 27-year-old Joplin woman, was pronounced dead at 7:28 p.m. at Mercy Lebanon.
The driver and another passenger in the vehicle, a 43-year-old Vancouver, Washington woman, were treated for serious injuries at Mercy Lebanon and Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, respectively.
Another passenger, a 23-year-old Joplin man, was treated for minor injuries at Lake Regional Hospital.
The driver of the Ford F-150 and two passengers, a 16-year-old Conway girl and a 23-year-old Niangua man, were treated for serious injuries at Lake Regional Hospital.
Two other passengers, an 8-year-old Conway boy and a 35-year-old Conway woman were treated for minor injuries at Mercy Lebanon.
The fatality was the 14th this year and the second this month for Highway Patrol Troop I.
