(From the Joplin Police Department)On 07-29-2025 around 4:58 am Joplin Police were dispatched to 411 N Sergeant Avenue in reference to a report of a gunshot.
Upon officers’ arrival, they located an adult female suffering from a non-life threating injury. Officers on scene provided medical care and she was transported to a local medical facility. She remains in stable condition.
The initial investigation revealed a juvenile had called 911 to report a gunshot.
When the 911 call was made, several juveniles and one adult female were present at the residence. The events leading to the 911 call are still under investigation.
Joplin Detectives continue to work with the Jasper County Juvenile Office and consider this an ongoing investigation.
At this time, all parties involved have been contacted by the Joplin Police Department and this is considered an isolated incident, with no threat to the public. An update will be sent when more information becomes available.
