A 16-year-old Carthage boy was injured in a one-vehicle accident 4 p.m. Tuesday on Route D four miles north of Oronogo.
According to the Highway Patrol report, the boy was going at a high rate of speed on a 2014 Honda motorcycle when he lost control and the bike overturned
The boy was treated for serious injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
