Fun events scheduled at Joplin History and Mineral Museum

(From the City of Joplin)

Come enjoy some fun events at the Joplin History Museum this month, including:

April 11 LEGO Sale Swap and Shop

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free to the public. The event will include a great variety of sets, jewelry, pieces, model creations, and mosaics. These would make a nice gift for graduation or a fun summer project.

Also, if interested in being a vendor, there are still some tables available. Entry is $10 per 8-foot table to display your merchandise. Contact the museum for details.

April 13 – 27 Ozark 7 Art Show

For more details about these events or museum information, call 417-623-1180, ext. 8.

In addition, the museum has a new Route 66 display, including a mural and many artifacts from this well-known highway, which is celebrating its Centennial this year. Renovations have also been completed on other exhibits and throughout the facility.

Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and military, and free for children ages 12 and under. For more information, call 417-623-1180, ext. 8.

The Joplin Historical Society was established in 1966 to preserve the history and artifacts of Joplin, Missouri. We continue that tradition and are constantly updating the displays to continue education and inform visitors about the people, events, and places in the history of the Joplin (and surrounding) communities.
