(From MoDOT)Expect Lane Reductions, Traffic Delays on I-44 for Pavement Repairs Beginning April 6
Drivers can expect traffic reduced to one lane and delays along I-44 in Jasper and Lawrence counties for pavement and bridge approach repair beginning the week of April 6, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
The work is being done from approximately one (1) mile east of Missouri Route 37 near Sarcoxie in Jasper County to Lawrence County Route Z/O (Exit 58) near Halltown in Lawrence County.

Contractor crews will begin working on westbound I-44 with repairs to bridge approaches and expect to begin paving in early summer 2026.
The contractor will also add permanent pavement striping, rumble strips and guardrail in places as part of the project.
Traffic Impacts
Traffic reduced to one lane on I-44 where crews are working
Work will be done during nighttime hours, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., Monday through Saturday
All lanes will be open to traffic during daytime hours
Drivers can expect some ramp closures at exits during paving operations
Drivers should watch for equipment and construction crews working close to traffic
No signed detours
Drivers are urged to find alternate routes during the project
Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zones
Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
Weather and/or construction delays could alter the work schedule.
