(From the City of Joplin)
Because the Joplin Municipal Court recognizes the difficulties many citizens may have in meeting their obligations with the Municipal Court, it will hold an Amnesty Day on Friday, November 14, 2014. Warrant Fees and Failure to Appear Fees will be waived for anyone wishing to turn themselves in on warrants on this day at the Municipal Court, Which is located at 303 East 3rd Street. The Amnesty Day hours are from 11a.m. to 5p.m. This program is for Joplin Municipal warrants only.
“Hosting an Amnesty Day allows people the opportunity to take care of cases without the fear of being arrested, said Court Administrator, Lamonte Ratcliff.
Ratcliff also notes that when warrants are issued, the individual’s driver’s license is suspended. During the Amnesty Day program, the Court will request the lifting of suspensions (through the Department of Revenue, DOR) for those individuals whose driver’s licenses have been suspended because of a previous failure to comply with the Municipal Court, allowing their driving privileges’ to be reinstated.
Persons wanting to learn if they have an outstanding warrant can call 417- 627-2930.
