The Joplin Fire Department responded to a reported apartment fire at the Robertson Apartments, 410 S Wall St., Joplin, at 4:05 PM on Sunday, 12 October, 2014. Fire crews arrived on the scene to find a multi-story brick apartment complex showing flame and smoke coming from a first floor apartment. Crews quickly extinguished the fire and then searched the structure for other fires, none being found. The fire was declared under control at 4:27 PM.
The building has been abandoned for some time. It is owned by Jim Inman. Crews remain on scene at this time.
Five fire units and 18 Firefighters responded to the scene, as well as JPD and METS. No one was injured on the scene.
With no utilities and being an abandoned structure, the fire was ruled incendiary in nature.
