An Asbury man was killed in a one-vehicle accident 12:20 a.m. today on MO 126, 20 miles west of Lamar.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 1994 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Michael J. Breneman, 37, Asbury, traveled off the left side of the road and struck a driveway embankment, causing the vehicle to overturn and strike a utility pole.
Breneman was pronounced dead at the scene by Barton County Coroner Tucker Joustra. The fatality was the 76th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
