Death of man discovered at 114 1/2 S. Pearl due to medical issues

The male that passed away has been identified as Billy J. Walters, 58 years of age.

The cause of death has been determined to be due to medical issues. There was no foul play involved.

Original News Release-The Joplin Police Department responded to 114 ½ S. Pearl Ave. in reference to a check well-being.

We are in the preliminary stages of a death investigation. We will hold the scene until after the autopsy which is scheduled 4/6/2016 at 1100 hours at Frontier Forensics in Kansas City, Mo.
