DWI, assault charges filed after two accident victims airlifted to Freeman

A Butler man was charged with driving while intoxicated, following an accident in which two people were injured 3:45 a.m. today on U. S. 160, two miles east of Mindenmines.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 1998 Ford F-150 driven by Trey A. Heckadon, 20, Butler, drove off the left side of the road and struck a power pole.

Heckadon and a passenger, Austin L. Fix, 23, Lee's Summit, were airlifted to Freeman Hospital, Joplin, with moderate injuries.

In addition to DWI, Heckadon was charged with felony assault and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway.
