Grave marker unveiled in Joplin for policeman killed in 1932

(From the Joplin Police Department)

We were honored to attend a ceremony in Joplin Friday for the unveilling of a grave marker for fallen Springfield, Missouri Police Officer Charles Houser.

Although Houser was killed in the line of duty in 1932 along with five other area officers in a shootout, it was recently determined he was laid to rest in an unmarked grave in Joplin, Missouri.

Thanks to the Missouri Peace Officers Association for making this happen.
