Just when you thought Spring Classic 2016 Ping Pong Tournament at Memorial Hall couldn’t get any more exciting – a challenge within Joplin City Council has been announced!
Councilwoman Melodee Colbert-Kean will be battling against Councilman-Elect Taylor Brown in a “no-holds barred, council veteran vs. rookie” exhibition ping pong match during this weekend’s Table Tennis tournament. Their match is set for 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 9, and the winner will receive a championship medal.
This match will be one of the first during the Spring Classic 2016 Ping Pong Tournament at Memorial Hall, hosted by the Joplin Table Tennis Club.
According to Janus Lazarus, President of the Joplin Club, past tournaments have seen a number of highly-skilled players as well as those starting the sport. Their club encourages the general public to attend and watch this one of a kind tournament. Attending the tournament is free, and can provide family entertainment in a friendly but competitive environment.
This recently announced challenge will bring new level of fun to the tournament, so be sure to stop by Memorial Hall to watch this and all the other matches.
