Crowder College weekly update

Academics

·         NEW Students should register for Start Smart 2017. This is a short informational event for you and your family, held at each campus, to provide a jump start on the semester. Registration is available at: http://www.crowder.edu/admissions/getting-started/
·         Enrollment is NOW OPEN for the Joplin Advanced Training & Technology Center classes which will start August 21.
·         Congratulations to the 644 Crowder College students who made the Spring 2017 Dean’s List. A complete list may be found at:http://www.crowder.edu/2017/06/19/spring-2017-deans-list-named/
·         More than 250 Upward Bound students have been participating in summer courses on the Neosho campus since the end of May. Students will present their research projects June 28, 8-11am & 2-5pm in the Elsie Plaster Community Center. ·         Programs currently accepting application for Fall 2017 include:
·         The Nursing Programs in Neosho & Cassville are accepting application through August 15 for Spring 2018.

Athletics
·         2017 Elite Summer Showcase Softball Camp – July 25-26, $250 includes overnight stay, 3 meals, t-shirt instruction from college coaches & players.Registration deadline is July 8. For information and registration go to: http://www.crowdersoftballcamps.com/elite-summer-showcase.cfm
·         Congratulations to the 24 Student-Athletes who earned NJCAA Academic Student-Athlete Awards. Students had to earn a GPA of 3.6 or higher and complete at least 12 hours to be eligible. http://www.njcaa.org/awards/student-athlete-awards
·         Congratulations to the following Softball Players who earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American/All-Region Honors:
1st Team – Paige Mendoza (infielder), Oakley Sisemore (Outfielder), and Kristen Dempsey (Utility).
2nd Team – Maddie Massannelli (Pitcher) & Bailey Bunch (Infielder).

Community Events
·         Crowder Aggies present “Pullin for Aggies” Truck & Tractor Pull, July 7 & 8, 7pm nightly, Roughrider Arena, 608 Field Ave, Neosho.Admission is $10 for adults & $8 for children ages 6-12. Smoked chicken dinners with sides and drink will be sold for $6 each. Tickets available at the gate. This event is provided by Spring River Valley Pulling Association. ·         NOW ENROLLING FOR FALL - Early Learning Center at Crowder. Children ages 3-5 (potty trained) may attend. Tuition is $10 per session with the following options: 5 days a week (M-F) $50 week (AM or PM session); 3 days a week (MWF) $30 week (AM or PM session); 2 days a week (TTh) $20 week (AM or PM session). AM session – 8:30-11am; PM session – 12:30-3pm. The Early Learning Center is located in Smith Hall on the Crowder College campus in Neosho.
