Five St. Joseph residents injured, Joplin trucker escapes injury in crash on 71

Five St. Joseph residents were injured in a two-vehicle accident 10:10 a.m. today on U. S. 71, four miles south of Pineville.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Craig A. Metzinger, 46, St. Joseph pulled into the path of a 2017 Peterbilt driven by Henry A. Madison, 58, Joplin, and the vehicle collided.

Metzinger and four passengers, Elizabeth Metzinger, 12, Rodney Metzinger, 19, Calista Stewart, 12, and Tristen M. Young, 10, all of St. Joseph, were treated for minor injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
