Joplin man charged with felony leaving the scene after injury accident on 66

A Joplin man was charged with felony leaving the scene of an accident following a two-vehicle accident 8:30 p.m. Tuesday on MO 66 at Central City Road, one mile west of Joplin.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Coleton B. Cavener, 51, Joplin, failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Cynthia F. Meyer, 51, Joplin.

A passenger in the Cavener vehicle, Dakota J. Garrett, 23, Carl Junction, was treated for moderate injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.

Cavener was also arrested on a felony Jasper County warrant for driving while intoxicated, driving while revoked, 10 misdemeanor Joplin Police Department warrants and two misdemeanor Carl Junction Police Department warrants.

  1. So Cavener is 51 driving a 2015 chevy malibu and other driver is also 51 driving exact car?
