Thomas Jefferson Scholar Bowl team competes at National Scholastic Championship

(From Thomas Jefferson Independent Day School)

Congratulations to the State Champion Upper School Scholar Bowl Team on the performance at the National Scholastic Championship in Chicago Saturday.

The TJ team was one of 100 high schools at the national tournament, and the competition consisted of 15 rounds. The Cavaliers did well competing at the national level, where many of the teams are from much larger high schools.

The Cavalier team ended up outscoring 14 of the other teams, and Savannah Dillard finished 39th overall in scoring among the 414 students. She was the 4th highest-scoring 9th grader.

The National Scholastic Championship is hosted by the Partnership for Academic Competition Excellence, and the Cavaliers qualified for the highly selective national tournament based on their exceptional performance at both the Washington University High School Academic Challenge in February, and the Columbia Fall Academic Challenge IX in October.
