City of Joplin's microsurfacing program to begin in residential area between 32nd and 36th streets

(From the City of Joplin)

The City’s micro-surfacing program for 2020 has begun. As micro-surfacing operations along city roads takes place over the next several weeks, the City encourages citizens to watch for postings in their neighborhoods.

If your street will be affected by the micro-surfacing, the contractor, Vance Brothers, will notify residents along city streets with informational door hangers on their front doors. No parking signs will also be posted along both sides of the street, and at both ends of each block.

These notifications should be completed within 48 hours prior to the work being started.

It is important to ensure that vehicles are not parked on the posted streets until the surfacing work has been completed.

Work begins in the residential area between 32nd Street and 36th Street, between Connecticut Avenue and Range Line and move north as work progresses. Streets are selected based on the pavement’s condition. A map showing specific streets to receive this treatment is posted on the City’s website.

Please note work schedule may shift due to weather conditions. The micro-surfacing project is funded by the Transportation Sales Tax.
