Barton County deputies arrest two Lamar men on felony drug, burglary charges

On March 16th, 2021 at approximately 7:41A.M., deputies with the Barton County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the Barton County Eagles Club located approximately four miles east of Lamar for a report of suspicious activity.
 
Deputies arrived on scene and located two males at that location. The males were identified as Cody Kennon (29) of Lamar, MO and Jeremiah Brandell (47) of Lamar, MO. 

During the initial investigation, deputies discovered two out buildings had been burglarized as well as the club building. Deputies also discovered stolen items in the vehicle suspects were driving (1997 white Dodge Dakota). 








A neighbor nearby advised deputies they were missing items which were located in the suspects' vehicle as well.
 
Deputies arrested both Cody Kennon and Jeremiah Brandell and placed them on a 24-hour hold for investigation. Barton County Prosecuting Attorney filed the following charges:

Cody Kennon:
1. Possession of Controlled Substance (Class D Felony)
2. Burglary 2nd (Class D Felony)
Bond set at $25,000 cash/surety

Jeremiah Brandell:
1. Burglary 2nd (Class D Felony)
Bond set at $25,000 cash/surety

This investigation is still ongoing as it has led to other thefts in the area. If you have any information please call the Barton County Sheriff's Office.
 
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
