Lamar Police Department makes arrests in connection with car stolen from Walmart

On March 11, 2021, officers responded to a motor vehicle theft that had just occurred at Wal-Mart in Lamar. 

The stolen vehicle had been located near 10th and Grand. Ruby C. Austen, 36, of Lamar, Mo, was located nearby, and an investigation determined she had been the passenger in the stolen vehicle. 

Officers were also able to determine that Darias M Davis, 28, of Kansas City, Mo, was the driver. He was located and, after foot chase, he was also taken into custody. 

The Barton County Prosecutor filed charges on both for Motor Vehicle Theft and they are being held in the Barton County Jail in Lieu of $2,500 bond.
