A project to upgrade sidewalks to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements, along various routes in Dade, Polk and Greene Counties, to begin the week of July 19, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Drivers are urged to use caution as they travel over gravel at times at driveways and business entrances to reach their destinations.
Here’s a look at the project:
Contractor crews upgrading sidewalks to conform to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements, including replacing sidewalk and installing curb ramps and pedestrian signals
Dade County
Missouri Route 39 (Grand Avenue) between Wells Street and College Street in Greenfield
Missouri Route 245 (Catalpa Street/Penn Avenue) between Main Street and School Entrance in Dadeville
Dade County Route M (Springfield Street) between Main Street and Clark Street in Everton
Polk County
Polk Country Route 32 (Broadway Street) between Route 13 and Route D in Bolivar
Polk Country Route 83 (Springfield Avenue) between Route 32 (Broadway Street) and Route 13 in Bolivar
Missouri Route 215 (Main Avenue) between Maple Street and Dixie Lane in Morrisville
Polk County Route H (Main Street) between Cowden Street and Adams Street in Pleasant Hope
Greene County
Greene County Route BB (Main Street) between Walnut Street and Frisco Highline Trail in Walnut Grove
Driveway concrete replaced in half sections and temporary gravel driveways will be provided to allow access to the property
Drivers may encounter flaggers and lane drops where crews are working
Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.
Hunter-Chase & Associates, Springfield is doing the work for a low bid amount of $1.1 million.
The project is to be completed by December 1, 2021.
