(From the Jasper County Sheriff's Office)We will be having an award ceremony to recognize the outstanding lifesaving work of several of our employees, Chief Deputy Walrod, Sgt. Mark Neidert and Garrett Metscher on January 11 at 6:00 PM, upstairs training room at the Sheriff’s Office, 231 S. Main.
As many of you remember on November 26, 2021, Deputy Corbett had a heart attack while on duty.
We will also be recognizing the efforts of telecommunicators from JASCO, firefighters from Carthage Fire Department, Mercy McCune-Brooks EMTs and officers from the Carthage Police Department who all greatly contributed to saving Corbett’s life on this day.
This is a public event, so everyone is welcome. Please join us for this celebration.
