Lamar R-I is excited to announce our 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year!
Teacher of the Year is selected by Lamar R-I Staff. This year's winner is Marissa Buzzard!
Mrs. Buzzard, a Lamar High School alumna, embarked on a journey in education that brought her back to her roots.
After earning a Bachelor of Science in Education from Pittsburg State University, she taught English in Oklahoma before returning to her alma mater to teach high school English.
In 2022, Marissa transitioned to the role of Library Media Specialist, earning a certificate in Library Sciences from Missouri State University. Her favorite part of the job is building relationships with students and sharing her love of literature.
