A Joplin man was cited for driving while intoxicated following a one-vehicle accident 8:45 p.m. Saturday on MO 86 a half-mile south of Redings Mill.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2008 Dodge Charger driven by Christopher S. Brewer, 51, Joplin, failed to negotiate a curve, traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck two utility poles.
Brewer, who was also cited for failing to drive on the right half of the roadway, was treated for serious injuries at Mercy Joplin.
