(From the Joplin Police Department)Joplin Police remind you that the holidays are a very active season for porch pirates, who seek to steal package deliveries. To reduce their opportunities to plunder your loot, we encourage you to try any of the following:
- Have the delivery service schedule delivery when you are home.
- Have packages delivered to a neighbor who will be home.
- Have the delivery service hold your package until you can come pick it up.
- Have your package delivered to your place of work during the day.
- Open a PO Box at your local post office and have packages delivered there.
These tips are relevant all year-round, but we want to remind you this Black Friday weekend when many people will be placing delivery orders.
Or have a camera security system and meet them at your porch for a little discipline
