Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident 7:45 a.m today on Route K four miles east of Jasper.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2020 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by a 27-year-old Mount Vernon man failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection of Route T and Route K and struck a 2009 Toyota Corolla driven by a 46-year-old Jasper man.
Both vehicles ran off the northeast side of the roadway where the Jasper man's vehicle overturned and the Mount Vernon man's vehicle struck a utility pole.
The Jasper man was flown to Mercy Springfield with serious injuries.
The Mount Vernon man was treated for minor injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
